This year, Hong Phong commune in Nam Sach district (Hai Duong) has 214 hectares of winter-spring rice. Many farmers here harvest rice at night because of the cool weather and to meet the harvest deadline.
NPeople in Hong Phong commune have harvested about 70% of the winter-spring rice area.The harvested rice is packed into bags and taken home. People work at night because they are busy with other jobs during the day and to take advantage of the cool weather.Farmers in the commune said that despite being affected by storms and floods, rice still yielded an average of 1.7 quintals/sao.Harvesting machines help speed up the harvest so that farmers can switch to winter crops in time. This year, Hong Phong commune has a total area of 45 hectares for winter crops, of which 10 hectares are for onions, 10 hectares for flowers and medicinal herbs, and the remaining 25 hectares for other vegetables.PHUNG BAN
