Documents and images are presented in 3D space from Hanoi Citadel to Dong Xuan Market, passing through the Old Quarter and Opera House Square towards Bac Bo Palace. Each space corresponds to the content of the exhibition, providing an opportunity for the public to experience and explore in an interesting and useful way.

The online exhibition "Dear Capital People!" helps viewers experience Hanoi's space during the resistance war against France anytime, anywhere, at the addresses: https://archives.org.vn/hoidongbaothudo/ and https://hoankiem.hanoi.gov.vn/hoidongbaothudo/.

The exhibition is divided into 3 parts. Part 1, with the theme “Hanoi on fire, smoke and fire filling the sky”, introduces documents and images about the early stages of the French colonial invasion in Hanoi. Part 2, with the theme “Hanoi rising up”, introduces documents and images about the revolutionary struggles in Hanoi from 1930 to 1954. Part 3, “Hanoi on the day of victory”, introduces documents and images of the day of liberation, forever echoing the song of triumph.

"Compatriots of the Capital!" is a familiar call during the resistance war against the French in Hanoi. During nearly a century under the yoke of French colonialism, especially since the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, many popular struggles took place vigorously, creating a premise for later uprisings.

The August 1945 General Uprising in the form of demonstrations by 200,000 people inside and outside Hanoi won a glorious victory. From then on, the government in Hanoi fell into the hands of the Viet Minh. Hanoi revived to welcome Independence Day - National Day September 2.

The exhibition consists of three parts: Hanoi on fire, smoke and fire filling the sky; Hanoi stands up; Hanoi on the day of victory.

The smoke of war continued to cover the streets of Hanoi from the end of 1946 when the French colonialists returned to invade our country. Responding to President Ho Chi Minh's call for national resistance, the entire army and people of Hanoi fought steadfastly, determined to sacrifice everything for the beloved capital. After 8 years of fierce resistance, the people of the capital were happy to welcome the victorious army marching to liberate Hanoi. The red flag with yellow star fluttered on the Hanoi Flagpole, ending a journey full of hardships, sacrifices but extremely heroic and glorious.

Through the ups and downs of history, Thang Long-Hanoi is still the beloved capital and the pride of the people of the whole country, the place where the quintessence of the nation's thousand-year-old culture converges. With its central location in the capital Hanoi, Hoan Kiem district is a land associated with the 1000-year tradition of Thang Long-Hanoi, with the ancient beauty of the Hoan Kiem Lake relic complex - a special national relic, Hanoi Old Quarter - a national historical relic. Hoan Kiem is also the administrative-political, economic and cultural center of the city, a place containing a treasure trove of tangible values with 190 historical-cultural relics and revolutionary-resistance relics.
