On the evening of September 19, authorities in Quang Tri province urgently evacuated 84 households in areas at risk of landslides due to heavy rain.

On the evening of September 19, according to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Huong Hoa district (Quang Tri province), due to the impact of storm No. 4, there was moderate to heavy rain in the area, causing the separation of culverts on national highways, inter-commune roads, and intra-village roads in some localities.

Specifically, at the spillways in Coóc village (Huong Linh commune), Loa and Trum (Ba Tang commune), Bu village (Tan Lap commune), Lia commune to Xy commune, La La bridge at Km 1+700, DT.587 route to Huc commune... the water rose 0.5 - 1m, causing flooding, locally isolating some residential areas.

In particular, through preliminary assessment, the entire Huong Hoa district has 45 landslide risk points, of which 19 points are at high risk of landslides.

To ensure the safety of people's lives and property, on the evening of September 19, local authorities coordinated with police and military forces to urgently evacuate 84 households at risk of landslides in Huc, Huong Lap and Huong Viet communes to safety.

According to the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Tri province, from the afternoon and night of September 19 to September 20, floods on rivers continued to rise and peaked at alert levels 1 to 2; Thach Han river alone is likely to rise above alert level 2.

Currently, the water level on Ben Hai River, Hieu River and Thach Han River in the upstream is above alert level 1, in the downstream is below alert level 1 and rising.

As of 7:00 p.m. on September 19, local authorities coordinated with functional forces of Quang Tri province to evacuate nearly 1,100 households with nearly 3,000 people in vulnerable areas at risk of flash floods and landslides to safe places. Of which, Gio Linh district had 90 households, Cam Lo 644, Dakrong 88 households, Huong Hoa district 32 households, Quang Tri town 129 households...

Urgent evacuation of 3,000 people in Quang Binh

From 10pm on September 19, Quang Binh province experienced heavy rain over a large area. Heavy rain affected more than 3,000 households with over 13,000 people living in areas at risk of flooding, landslides, flash floods, and landslides.

In particular, at some spillways in the mountainous district of Minh Hoa, the water rose 0.5-1m high, causing localized isolation. On National Highway 12A through Dan Hoa commune, water from the hills along with rocks and soil flowed down onto the road, cutting off the road to 7 villages in Trong Hoa commune.

Currently, forces at Border Guard stations have coordinated with local authorities to put up signs and set up checkpoints to instruct people not to cross dangerous culverts.

On the afternoon and evening of September 19, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province ordered the evacuation of 852 households with nearly 3,000 people in vulnerable, dangerous areas, areas prone to landslides and flooding.
