Outstanding Citizen

Mr. Dao Van Tien, Director of Hoang Giang Joint Stock Company, was honored to be honored as "Outstanding Citizen of Hai Duong City" in 2024 in the field of production and business. Compared to other names in the green bean cake village - the city's traditional specialty, the Hoang Gia green bean cake brand was born later. However, with the efforts of Mr. Tien and the collective leadership and workers in the enterprise, Hoang Gia green bean cake has affirmed its position in the market. The company is not only a reputable supplier of green bean cake products for supermarket systems, retail chains, historical sites, etc., but also exports to Japan, the US, etc.

Up to now, Hoang Giang Joint Stock Company is the only unit in the province with 5-star OCOP products. In addition, the enterprise has 9 other products recognized as 4-star OCOP.

Not only does he run production and business activities effectively, creating jobs for more than 100 local workers, Mr. Tien also actively participates in social activities, regularly supporting people in difficult circumstances in Cam Thuong ward.

Ms. Le Thi Anh, born in 1982, President of the Thanh Binh Ward Red Cross Society, is always dedicated and devoted to charity and humanitarian work. Ms. Anh is always concerned about solutions and ways for the community to join hands, support the unfortunate, the disadvantaged and take good care of families with meritorious services. Speaking and doing, Ms. Anh is always proactive in taking the lead, actively mobilizing and calling on agencies, businesses and philanthropists to share with those in difficult circumstances.

Under the leadership of Ms. Anh, the Thanh Binh Ward Red Cross has organized many practical and meaningful activities and programs to share and alleviate some of the difficulties for the unfortunate. The Association regularly organizes free activities such as haircuts, medical examinations, photography, etc. for poor households, near-poor households, and policy families.

On holidays and Tet, the association organizes programs such as "Charitable Tet", "Reunion Meal", "Free Tet Market". Ms. Anh believes that those who do humanitarian work do not have to do a good job of asking or giving, but must do it from the heart and soul. Ms. Anh was honored as "Outstanding Citizen of Hai Duong City" in 2024 for her charitable and humanitarian activities.

2024 is the first year that Hai Duong City has organized the honoring of outstanding citizens. This time, 16 outstanding individuals in various fields were considered for the title of outstanding citizens of the city. This title is both an honor and a heavy responsibility for each citizen of the city to constantly strive, study, practice, and contribute to building a rich, beautiful, and civilized type I city.

Speak well, act well

Born in Yen Bai, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh was born in 1962 in Pham Ngu Lao ward and has been attached to Thanh Dong land for nearly 35 years. In his second hometown, he left a good impression in the hearts of parents, students, teachers of Ly Tu Trong Primary School and people of Pham Ngu Lao street.

Mr. Thanh makes a living by working as a cyclo driver. Many times, he witnessed students of Ly Tu Trong Primary School having difficulty crossing the street to go to or from school, and he was very worried. Pham Ngu Lao Street is crowded with vehicles, and young children do not pay attention to observing before and behind, so they are very vulnerable to danger. Thinking goes hand in hand with action, since September 2018 until now, every early morning and late afternoon, he has been present near the school gate to help students cross the street safely.

Mr. Thanh's actions made everyone admire him. The students were happier when they went to school and when they left, and the parents and the school were more secure. Over the past 6 years, the image of Mr. Thanh, a traffic "knight", who worked hard to help students cross the street regardless of the weather, has been a beautiful example.

Ms. To Thi Phuong, born in 1984 in Thanh Binh Ward, is the Head of Flower Garden Group No. 1 of the Parks and Trees Enterprise (Hai Duong Urban Works Management Joint Stock Company). For the past 14 years, Ms. Phuong and her colleagues have been tirelessly decorating the city with green grass and colorful flower beds. Overcoming difficult circumstances when her husband died early and she had to raise two small children alone, she always did her job well.

She is called the “innovative tree” by her colleagues because she has many effective ideas and improvements applied in taking care of trees in the inner city, contributing to making the city green, clean and beautiful. Not only does she do her assigned work well, she also enthusiastically guides and supports new workers in cutting, bending, pruning and shaping each type of tree.

“Taking care of trees is no different than raising a baby, but every time I see the trees flourishing, blooming, and beautifying the city, all my tiredness and hardship seem to disappear. At times like these, I appreciate the work I do even more,” Ms. Phuong shared.

Regardless of their circumstances or positions, people like Mr. Tien, Mr. Thanh, Ms. Phuong, and Ms. Anh are always aware of their responsibility to the community and society to make the city more beautiful, better, and more livable.
