Starting the 4/30-5/1 holiday, many young people take advantage of the opportunity to "play" games

Don't know what to do so... play games

At 7:30 a.m. on April 27, the game shop on Nguyen Thi Due Street (Hai Duong City) was more crowded than usual. To explore, I decided to choose a computer. Next to me was a student. After asking around, I learned that his name was TA from Hai Duong City. He took advantage of playing games on the first day of the holiday because he would be traveling with his family on April 30. After saying that, TA quickly jumped into the battle in the game on the screen with chaotic images and sounds.

Each person who goes to an internet cafe to play games has to pay an average of 5,000-8,000 VND per hour, and can sit and play in cool air conditioning. For gamers, spending tens of thousands of VND to “play” every day is normal, not including the cost of recharging game cards.

The question is where do they get the money to play? How does the family manage their children?

With this question, a student said: “This time we have a long break, and we have a large group, so we have time to gather and study hard to become masters. We don’t know what to do at home. Our parents give us money for breakfast, and sometimes when we get good grades, our parents give us extra rewards…”

Nowadays, in game shops, there is usually a kitchen with all kinds of dishes such as fried rice, bread, soft drinks to serve gamers who play all night long. With just a sandwich in hand and a bottle of yellow sting, many young people eat and play, sometimes swearing.

Overindulgence

On the evening of April 28, NVB in Ung Hoe commune (Ninh Giang) celebrated his birthday at home and then went with a group of friends to a game shop to play FC Online - a football game. The group, including B. and 3 other friends, divided into 2 teams to play a "betting" football game by whichever team lost would pay for the machine and soft drinks.

“Because we don’t have to study during the holidays, we have more time. Games that often have top-up events get more money, the more you play, the more gifts you get like players, costumes for your favorite characters and generals…”, B. added.

Playing games on smartphones is popular among young people because it is convenient and does not cost much money.

Not only at game shops, nowadays many families with conditions indulge their children by buying them expensive smartphones without managing them. With phones in hand, school-age children can easily use them to play games.

Children who do not have phones borrow from their parents, aunts, uncles, and older siblings to play games. Some games have very vivid graphics such as PUBG Mobile, Lien Quan, Free Fire, Asphalt 8... causing children to just focus on the screen while playing without paying attention to what is happening around them. When their parents call their names while they are playing, most of them linger to finish playing before standing up or show annoyance to the people around them.

Young people addicted to games will bring many bad consequences to themselves, their families and society.

In fact, if you play games in moderation, it is not a bad thing because after stressful days of studying, playing games can help your mind relax. But the most difficult thing is that games have a great attraction for young people, for those who lack courage, once they start playing, it is very difficult to stop.

The consequences of children who regularly play games and are addicted to games without adult supervision lead to poor academic performance, dropping out of school, stealing, and robbing to get money to play games.

During the April 30-May 1 holiday, families are often busy with parties, class reunions, and feasts, while students do not have to go to school, so they often get lost in video games.
