Also on board the passenger plane that crashed at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington on the evening of January 29 were Russian world figure skating champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, as well as former Soviet figure skater Inna Volyanskaya, who was a coach in the United States, according to Ms. Zakharova. The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added that the American athletes on the flight were also killed.
