Russia and Ukraine have agreed to reunite 29 Ukrainian children living in Russia with their relatives in their homeland and 19 Russian children in Ukraine or the EU with their relatives.
Russia and Ukraine have agreed to exchange around 50 children displaced after conflict between the two countries broke out in February 2022.
The statement was made by the Russian President's representative in charge of children's rights Maria Lvova-Belova on April 24 after the two countries held their first direct meeting regarding the return of children, mediated by Qatar.
Moscow also offered to help bring 19 Russian children living in Ukraine or the European Union (EU) back to the country for various reasons.
In addition, Ms. Maria Lvova-Belova also thanked the host country Qatar for mediating and providing a venue for Russia and Ukraine to dialogue regarding the issue of children.
