Improve management and operation skills of Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs

From August 8-12, the Hai Duong Provincial Elderly Association's Representative Board coordinated with the Vietnam Elderly Assistance International (HAI) to organize a training course on establishing, managing and operating the Intergenerational Self-Help Club.


The Board of Directors of Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs are instructed on how to manage and operate the club.

More than 60 officials of the District and Commune Elderly Associations and the Management Boards of 9 Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs established since the beginning of the year have been instructed on the methods and procedures for establishing clubs, and how to manage and operate clubs after establishment. The focus is on implementing activities to increase income, provide health care, self-help and support the community; protect the rights and interests of the elderly; mobilize resources to organize club activities...

Through this training course, the aim is to help the staff of the Association of the Elderly and the Board of Directors of the clubs understand the model of the Intergenerational Self-Help Club; acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute to improving the management and operation of these clubs.

This is an activity in the Project to support disadvantaged elderly people through replicating the Intergenerational Self-Help Club model in Vietnam, phase 2, implemented by HAI Organization in coordination with the Representative Board of the Elderly Association of 6 provinces and cities.
