This year, Nam Sach district (Hai Duong) will support nearly 5.1 billion VND for communes to classify waste at source.
On the morning of March 25, the 14th session of the 20th term Nam Sach District People's Council (special session) passed a resolution to support funding for communes and towns to classify, collect, and treat domestic solid waste at source in 2024.
Nam Sach District will support more than 4.2 billion VND for the cost of transporting and treating inorganic waste (transporting and burning waste after classification); more than 456 million VND for purchasing products to compost organic waste after classification and 374 million VND to support the direction, propaganda and implementation.
Support period in 2024 from district budget and other legal funding sources.
According to the People's Committee of Nam Sach district, the cost of transporting and treating inorganic waste after classification in the whole district is over 6 billion VND/year. The budget conditions of communes and towns are still difficult and the fees collected from households are not enough to cover the payment. Therefore, from mid-2022 to now, to classify, collect and treat domestic solid waste at source in the whole district, the district budget must support most of the costs for communes and towns.
