Water levels in many rivers in Hai Duong are rising rapidly. The Thai Binh River in Hai Duong on the morning of September 10 was at its highest level in 16 years, at level II alarm. People outside the dike in many places urgently moved away from the riverbank area.

According to the Hai Duong Province Hydrometeorological Station, at 7:00 a.m. on September 10, the water level of the Thai Binh River at Pha Lai reached 5.07 m, 0.07 m above alert level II. This is the highest water level recorded on the Thai Binh River in Hai Duong in the past 16 years. The Kinh Thay River at Ben Binh reached 3.71 m, 0.21 m above alert level II. The water level of the rivers downstream of the province has also exceeded alert level I.

According to forecasts, the water level of the Thai Binh River may reach 6 meters, at alert level III, on the morning of September 11. Previously, in 2004, the water level of the Thai Binh River reached alert level III.
