A power outage at the Backup Data Center at Quang Trung Software Park disrupted connections for several securities companies from 10am to 11am this morning, July 5.
This morning, MBS Securities announced that trading orders at HoSE were interrupted. Similarly, Funan Securities also encountered transmission problems, resulting in investors being unable to complete the login and online trading process.
This interruption lasted from 10am to 11am. This made it impossible for investors to make transactions during that time. The affected companies recommended that investors who wanted to place orders or make transactions should contact their brokers directly. During the more than 1 hour that securities companies had their online transactions interrupted, the VN-Index fluctuated within the range of 1,280-1,284 points.
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) said that a power outage at the Backup Data Center at Quang Trung Software Park (Ho Chi Minh City) disrupted the connection of a number of securities companies that have IT equipment installed there. HoSE affirmed that their trading system is still operating normally.
By 11am, the power outage was resolved, and connections and transactions of affected securities companies returned to normal.
According to the website, Quang Trung Software Park (QTSC), located in Tan Chanh Hiep ward, district 12, Ho Chi Minh City, is the first and largest software park in Vietnam.
QTSC was established in March 2001 and has so far attracted more than 140 IT enterprises, including 6 enterprises with a scale of over 1,000 people with 650 products and solutions, and is a place serving more than 21,600 people to study and work regularly.
Previously, in September 2018, a power outage at QTSC also caused the systems of many online newspapers and news aggregator websites to be interrupted for many hours. These websites use the ePi content management system (CMS), which has a management system at VNG's VinaData data center, located at Quang Trung Software Park.
