If you are looking to cut down on your living expenses, try applying the laundry tips suggested in this article!
According to Uswitch - a service that helps you manage your home energy costs, tumble dryers are energy-hungry appliances that can cost up to £1.03 per use.
Of course, this will vary depending on the exact appliance you have, how often you use it and for how long. But if you do three loads of laundry a week, this could cost you as much as £160.68 a year.
Posting on the Facebook page Scrimping on a Budget, a person who applied this laundry tip and saved a significant amount of money on electricity and water costs every month said: "When doing laundry, if you put a dry towel in the dryer, it will help you save a lot of time to dry the clothes. Hope this will be useful to you."

Others were quick to comment on the post, saying they had also tried this trick to help them cut their energy bills.
One person wrote: "I did this when I was trying to dry my son's polo shirts on a time crunch. And the results were amazing."
One person wrote: "I do this regularly, and it definitely works."
Meanwhile, a third added: "It's true and I've been doing it for years."
The reason is determined to be because towels absorb moisture in your laundry and help it dry faster. This reduces the amount of time you need to run the dryer and saves you money.
As of right now, experts aren't sure how much this trick can save you, but cutting down on usage time is a great way to save money.

Another way to reduce your dryer usage is to increase the spin time, spinning the clothes for an extra 10 minutes in the washer first so they are more water-free before transferring them there.
Will Owen, an energy expert at Uswitch, previously told The Sun: "The longer your tumble dryer cycle, the more money you're spending.
If your clothes are wet, it will have to run longer to dry them, significantly increasing your energy bill."
Additionally, reducing the heat cycle or simply cleaning your clothes dryer can help reduce your bills.
Lisa Barber, Home Services and Products Editor, says: "Regularly servicing your tumble dryer can cut your bills, as filters that catch dust and lint from clothes can add almost £20 to your laundry costs each year."
