Some people impersonate delivery people and call customers to inform them of online orders, then ask them to transfer money to make payment.
At 2:50 p.m. on June 25, I received a phone call from 0847793269, claiming to be a shipper. This person informed me that I had an order worth 128,000 VND, delivered to my home address. Because I was at work, I asked this person what the order was, which store delivered it, and told me to just give the goods to my family, I would transfer the money later. However, this person could not tell me the name of the store, only said it was a clothing order and delivered from TikTok Shop.
After that, this person texted me his bank account number and asked me to transfer money. Out of suspicion, I checked my orders at TikTok Shop and saw no clothing orders, nor any orders worth 128,000 VND.
Nowadays, many people have the habit of buying goods on e-commerce platforms and paying by bank transfer. To avoid being scammed, everyone should remember the orders they buy, when someone calls to inform about delivery but cannot receive directly, they should go to the app to check the order, if the bill of lading number and value of the goods are correct, then transfer money to avoid losing money to scammers.
