It is forecasted that from October 1 to 2, the water level of Thao River will continue to rise rapidly. During this flood, the flood peak on small rivers in Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces is likely to reach alert level 2 - alert level 3.

Floods on Thao River in Yen Bai continue to remain above historical levels

Water level at 1:00 a.m. on September 10 on Thao River in Lao Cai was 86.6m, 3.1m above alert level 3; at Bao Ha it was 61.62m, 0.69m above the historical flood level in 2008 (60.93m); at Yen Bai it was 34.79m, 0.37m above the historical flood level in 1968 (34.42m).
