On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025), on the morning of February 25, in Hanoi, the 108 Military Central Hospital held the inauguration ceremony of two buildings: the Central Institute for Protection and Health Care of Cadres (A11) and the Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases (A4), contributing to the implementation of the mission of a special-class hospital in the examination and treatment of high-ranking cadres of the Party, State, army and people.

At the inauguration ceremony, excited and proud to receive the high-quality project put into service for patients, with the motto "Dedication - Professionalism - Modernity - Efficiency", Major General, Professor, Doctor Le Huu Song, Director of 108 Central Military Hospital affirmed that the hospital's officers, doctors and staff will continue to promote the glorious tradition, actively study, research, improve professional qualifications, professional ethics, determination, focus all resources, overcome all difficulties, successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and the army, build the hospital to soon become an international-class hospital; a leading national center for scientific research, training, international connection and cooperation, well meeting the needs of high-quality medical examination and treatment of officers, soldiers and people.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam praised the achievements of the collective of cadres, professors, doctors, pharmacists, and scientists of the 108 Central Military Hospital, contributing to the remarkable development of the health sector; acknowledged the determination of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense in focusing on building and completing on schedule the projects of the Central Institute for Health Care and Protection of Cadres and the Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases at the 108 Central Military Hospital.

Affirming that the cause of protecting and caring for people's health is a common responsibility of the whole society, in which the health sector plays a core role, the General Secretary suggested that, as a strategic hospital, the last line of the army and the whole country, in the coming years, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the 108 Central Military Hospital need to continue to promote the role of leadership, centralized direction, unity, and innovation in management; in which, focusing on leadership, direction and organization of implementation to create important breakthroughs in: professional quality, service quality; promoting administrative reform, simplifying administrative procedures, strongly applying digital transformation in medical examination and treatment; building a team of cadres and employees with strong political will, good expertise, clear medical ethics, a dedicated patient service perspective and good compliance with professional regimes; building a standardized, scientific, and advanced hospital.

To maintain prestige and continue sustainable development, the General Secretary suggested that the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the hospital, professors, doctors, pharmacists, scientists and the hospital's medical staff focus on building a strong and clean Party organization, a strong and comprehensive agency and unit, promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period; building a team of cadres who are politically steadfast, exemplary in morality, proactive, creative, self-reliant in performing professional and technical tasks; paying special attention to training, practicing and developing human factors, focusing on training, attracting and developing talents; building a team of intellectuals and scientists with good professional qualifications, good moral qualities and pure medical ethics.

The General Secretary noted that hospitals need to constantly maintain and comprehensively improve professional quality in all aspects, taking patients as the center, completing well the tasks of admission, emergency care, and treatment; closely combining treatment with scientific research, training and technology transfer; need to have mechanisms, policies on incentives, investment, expanding medical training majors, creating conditions to attract medical staff and doctors to participate in scientific research, continuous training, and postgraduate training; strengthen international cooperation in training high-quality human resources to absorb the quintessence of modern medical science, bringing the country's healthcare sector further.

At the same time, the hospital promotes research, application and development of new and high-tech techniques, masters science and technology, applies advanced technological advances in diagnosis and treatment, effectively solves diseases in peacetime, is ready to respond to natural disasters, meets the requirements of combat readiness and combat in all conditions; strengthens management, innovates operating mechanisms, promotes hospital autonomy associated with improving the quality of medical services; continues to promote administrative reform, applies information technology, artificial intelligence, comprehensive digital transformation in all medical examination, treatment and management activities to improve the quality of medical services, improve the health care and management system, and meet the increasing needs of soldiers and people.

Regarding the Central Institute for Health Protection and Care of Cadres and the Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases, the General Secretary requested that hospital leaders and commanders pay attention to doing a good job of technical work to operate the project safely, in accordance with regulations, effectively exploit modern equipment, avoid waste and loss; educate all staff to have good awareness in preserving, operating, using effectively, efficiently, safely and with quality of the project to well serve the high-quality medical examination and treatment needs of soldiers and people.

Government agencies and the Ministry of National Defense direct and create all favorable conditions to help the hospital continue to be fully invested in modern and synchronous equipment to further develop and soon reach international standards.

The project of the Central Institute for Health Protection and Care of Cadres and the Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases at the 108 Central Military Hospital has been approved by the Prime Minister and the Minister of National Defense, with the budget allocated for active implementation and completion on schedule.

These are two buildings with beautiful architecture, scientific design, integrating many advanced medical solutions, with the goal of improving the quality of medical services and research with modern facilities and equipment according to international standards, connecting with the existing infrastructure of the hospital.

The Central Institute for Protection and Health Care for Cadres has a scale of 1 basement, 7 floors, floor area of ​​19,684 m2, arranged with 23 patient rooms (4 VIP-A patient rooms, 11 VIP-B patient rooms, 8 VIP-C patient rooms).

The Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases has a scale of 1 basement connected to the tunnel of the central cluster and 7 floors above ground with a total floor area of ​​15,379 m2 on a construction land area of ​​2,079 m2, arranging 145 hospital beds (can be increased by 200 - 300% when there is an outbreak), including 3 - 5 isolation treatment beds for senior leaders of the Party, State and army when needed. In addition, the two buildings have a synchronous technical system.
