Early morning of December 15, Hai Duong area continued to be immersed in cold weather with the lowest temperature of 11-12 degrees Celsius. Despite the cold weather, many workers still tried to work for 'food and clothing'.

Mr. Nghiem Viet Quyet (67 years old), who works as a gatekeeper at Ecoriver urban area (Hai Duong city), wears 7 shirts at a time to keep warm. He stays up all night to work, so he can clearly feel the cold air when the temperature sometimes drops to 11 degrees Celsius. "I don't have a pension, my wife is a farmer, my 2 sons are also manual laborers, so I have to work hard to earn an income to maintain my life," Mr. Quyet confided.

Despite the cold weather, from 4am, many workers of Hai Duong Urban Environment Joint Stock Company went out to do their duty. Worker Nguyen Ngoc Dao (pictured) said that the wind and light rain made him shiver at times even though his hands and feet were constantly moving. Because of his duty, he still had to try hard.

On Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue, another worker of Hai Duong Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, Ms. Tran Thi Lu, also tried to endure the cold to complete her assigned task.

Occasionally, Ms. Lu has to light a fire by the roadside to keep warm.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xoi in Tien village, Lai Cach town (Cam Giang) also wakes up early in the morning to make a living. She has to wear many layers of warm clothes in the cold weather to protect her health. "I also intended to rest on days like this, but because I have many regular customers, I try to serve them and also because this sticky rice stall is the main source of income for my family," Ms. Xoi said.

After 5am, many traders were present at Phu Loc market in Cam Vu commune (Cam Giang) to sell goods. Everyone was dressed "fully" to avoid the cold.

The weather in the morning was very cold, even though he had to wear a raincoat to keep warm, a vendor at Phu Loc market was still very optimistic.
