Information about a 7th grade female student studying at a secondary school in Dien Chau (Nghe An) who had to be hospitalized after taking 30 paracetamol pills has attracted public attention.

It is worth mentioning that in many articles, the reason for this action is said to be because she had conflicts with some classmates, was boycotted, isolated and bullied.

In response to the above information, the Department of Education and Training of Dien Chau district sent a document to the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An to report the incident. According to this document, the female student who had to be hospitalized is LTMP, currently a 7th grade student at An Trung Secondary School.

The incident happened on March 30, 2025. At noon, she was still happy and normal, but at around 4:00 p.m., P. called her mother to report that she was tired and had a stomachache and asked her mother to take her to the hospital. After showing unusual symptoms, her family took her to Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. She was diagnosed with using a large amount of painkillers. After 4 days of treatment, her health stabilized, she was discharged from the hospital and is now back to school as usual.

The document also stated that, through verification from various sources, the school where P. studied confirmed that there was no case of this student being isolated, boycotted or bullied due to conflicts with friends. However, the school noted that the student had some unusual health symptoms recently.

Through investigation, Ms. Dang Thi T., the homeroom teacher of the class, said that P. is an average student, quiet, and rarely communicates with friends and teachers. He also does not actively participate in class activities, shows signs of irritability or falls asleep during class.

After information on social media that he was isolated and bullied, the school board coordinated with the teacher, the Youth Union leader, parents and students of the class to organize a meeting and talk with him. At the meeting, P. affirmed that he was not beaten up or isolated. He only said that he was teased a few times on the dike, outside the school grounds.

Classmates also confirmed that it was just normal teasing, after that P. and her friends were still happy and normal again.

Ms. Ho Thi T. - the mother of the female student said that she was very surprised to see information on social networks that her daughter was isolated and bullied, leading to her taking medicine to commit suicide. She confirmed that the information posted was not true. The family also said that no one had contacted them directly to verify the incident.

Regarding the cause, she believes that her child's actions are due to psychological changes during adolescence, leading to impulsive and temporarily uncontrolled behavior.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training, said: After receiving the information, the Department directed the Department of Education and Training of Dien Chau district to urgently verify and clarify the incident; requested the school to coordinate with parents to visit, encourage students, and provide timely support so that they can soon stabilize and continue studying.

In addition, the Department requires schools to strengthen psychological counseling, promote the role of the School Psychological Counseling Team and social work in schools to promptly detect and support students with psychological difficulties, and prevent behaviors related to school violence.

From the above incident, the school and parents request that the authorities investigate and clarify the websites and press agencies that post untrue information affecting the image and reputation of the school in particular and the education sector in general, in order to handle it according to the provisions of the law.

It is known that, in response to the information spreading on social networks, on the afternoon of April 11, Nghe An Provincial Police stepped in to verify and clarify the incident to prevent the spread of false information, affecting students' psychology, the school environment and causing bad public opinion in society.
