According to the Agency's documents, at around 5:30 p.m. on April 30, Mr. Suzuki Kenichiro and his wife, Ms. Suzuki Kaori (both born in 1970, Japanese nationality) entered Vietnam for tourism purposes and stayed at a hotel in Hang Buom ward, Hoan Kiem district.

When Mr. Suzuki Kenichiro and his wife walked to the coffee shop at 116 Cau Go, Hang Bac Ward to drink water, there were 3 foreign men walking closely behind Mr. Suzuki Kenichiro. One subject was wearing a white shirt, holding an umbrella in his right hand and another subject was wearing a blue T-shirt holding a fan in his right hand to cover both sides so that the remaining subject could steal Mr. Suzuki Kenichiro's dark brown leather wallet.

After successfully stealing the wallet, the thieves passed it around to each other to dispose of it, but were suddenly discovered by Ms. NTMT (born in 1981 in Chuong Duong ward, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi), a nearby vendor, who immediately shouted for help.

Knowing that they had been discovered, the subjects threw the wallet at the scene and ran away. However, one of the three main subjects, Liao Jiang Tao, was knocked down by Mr. NMQ (born in 1979 in Quoc Tu Giam ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi) and reported to the Hang Bac ward police.

Upon receiving the information, the Hoan Kiem District Police began an investigation. When examining Mr. Suzuki Kenichiro's wallet, the authorities confirmed that there was 65,000 Japanese yen, equivalent to more than 10 million VND, inside. At the police station, the suspect Liao Jiang Tao refused to admit to the crime. However, based on the collected documents and evidence, along with witness statements, the Hoan Kiem District Police determined that Liao Jiang Tao's actions constituted a crime.

Currently, the unit is continuing to handle the case according to the provisions of law.
