Due to lack of money to spend and addiction to games, the subjects came up with the idea of robbing property in Nam Sach town (Hai Duong). Among the 4 subjects were minors.
On January 13, the Investigation Police Agency of Nam Sach District Police (Hai Duong) initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and detained Tong Van Tam (born in 2007, in Than Thuoc Commune, Tan Uyen District, Lai Chau Province), Vu Minh Chien (born in 2008, in Nguyen Van Troi area, Nam Sach Town), Do Van Duc (born in 2009) and Dinh Xuan Duy (born in 2008, both residing in Thai Tan Commune, Nam Sach) to investigate the crime of robbery.
On January 4, Nam Sach District Police received a report from Mr. Hoang Duc Hung (born in 2009, in Cong Hoa Commune, Nam Sach District) that at around 0:30 a.m. on January 1, in front of house number 174, Tran Hung Dao Street, Nhan Hung Area, Nam Sach Town, Mr. Hung was threatened, restrained and robbed of a black and white Honda Vision motorbike by a group of 4 people with swords.
Nam Sach District Police urgently investigated and verified. By January 5, they had identified the four suspects who had committed the robbery of Mr. Hung.
The suspects confessed that they had planned to rob because they lacked money to spend and were addicted to games. They took swords from an internet cafe to threaten and rob the motorbike; then they sold the motorbike for 5.8 million VND and divided the money to play games, buy clothes and spend on personal expenses.
