Mr. Tran Van Dat in Dich Son village, Hiep Hoa commune (Kinh Mon) not only creates and innovates products to develop his furniture workshop but also actively participates in the local Youth Union movement.
Nestled at the foot of An Phu mountain range, Mr. Dat's furniture workshop in Dich Son village, Hiep Hoa commune has been filled with the sound of drilling and cutting machines for over a year. This 320 m2 furniture workshop is also the "office" of many young people in the commune.
Mr. Dat has been working in interior design in Hanoi for 10 years. In March 2022, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and family circumstances, he decided to return to his hometown to start a business with Tran Furnit furniture workshop.
When he first started his business, he only had over 200 million VND, while the amount to invest in equipment, machinery, and factory was over 1 billion VND. He had to borrow more from relatives and banks. His factory focused on industrial wood products. This product was not popular in his hometown, so the source of input materials and output market were still limited. While working, Mr. Dat learned from the experience of his predecessors and invested in expanding the scale of the factory.
With full investment in machinery and application of advanced technology in production, his furniture workshop offers sophisticated and sharp designs and products. After many projects, being introduced by many people, the consumer market has also expanded from Kinh Mon town to neighboring districts, provinces and cities.
The application of modern machinery in production helps the factory save ⅓ of labor, time, materials and costs. There are products such as shelves, tables, cabinets from design to completion in just one morning.
10 years of working in interior design in Hanoi, participating in many large projects, he learned a lot of experience and modern designs. Starting a business in his hometown, he brought many new designs such as industrial wooden doors, glass door wardrobes, decorative walls... to the market and was loved by customers.
Mr. Dat shared: “The interior industry also develops like the fashion industry, changing designs and updating trends continuously. If we are not creative and updated with trends to serve customer tastes, we will easily fall behind.”
After more than 1 year of starting the business, Mr. Dat's workshop has constructed many interior projects worth hundreds of millions of VND. The workshop's monthly revenue is about 200 million VND; creating jobs for about 4-6 local youth with an income of 7-9 million VND/person/month.
Not only is he good at business, Mr. Dat is also very active in local Youth Union movements. As Secretary of the Dich Son Village Youth Union, he advises on organizing and participating in many activities and movements such as sports tournaments, summer activities, Mid-Autumn Festival, etc. When asked about how to balance work at the workshop and Youth Union work, he shared that he always prioritizes the Youth Union's tasks because his work at the workshop has the support of his colleagues.
In 2022, Mr. Dat was recognized by the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union as a typical young entrepreneur of Hai Duong province. At the same time, he was one of three typical young people of the province participating in the 2022 National Youth Entrepreneurship Forum organized by the Central Youth Union and the Central Youth Union of Vietnam.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hang, Secretary of Kinh Mon Town Youth Union, said that with his youth, creativity and passion for entrepreneurship, Dat has overcome difficulties and initially built his own career. Dat also actively and enthusiastically participates in local Youth Union activities. This is an example of entrepreneurial spirit for Kinh Mon youth to spread and learn from.
