The Golden Canal Bridge, considered a symbol connecting the development corridor between Bac Ninh and Hai Duong provinces, began construction on the afternoon of September 22 and is expected to be completed in 2025.
On the afternoon of September 22, at the conference to announce the Planning and Investment Promotion of Bac Ninh province in 2024, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Project to invest in the construction of the Golden Canal Bridge and the roads at both ends of the bridge, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, took place.
The groundbreaking ceremony was changed from in-person to online and all expenses for the ceremony were transferred to support people affected by storm No. 3.
The project to invest in the construction of the Kenh Vang bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, has a route length of about 13.4 km, invested by the Bac Ninh Traffic Construction Project Management Board (Department of Transport), with a total cost of more than 2,182 billion VND. Of which, the Kenh Vang bridge construction project is 740 m long, 23.5 m wide, designed on a permanent scale, with a prestressed reinforced concrete structure; the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are 12.6 km long, with a road surface width of 15 m; construction locations are in Gia Binh, Luong Tai and Nam Sach districts (Hai Duong).
The Golden Canal Bridge is considered a symbol connecting the development corridor between Bac Ninh and Hai Duong provinces, contributing to the completion of traffic infrastructure, creating momentum for socio-economic development, attracting investment and improving the lives of people in the two provinces. It is expected that the Golden Canal Bridge will be completed in 2025 and the entire project will be completed on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Bac Ninh province (January 1, 1997 - January 1, 2027).
