Opening of the expanded "Culinary Flavors of Lang" contest and fair to display and introduce OCOP products in the spring of Giap Thin 2024

On the evening of March 6, at the Lang Son Trade Fair Center, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son City held the opening ceremony of the "Culinary Flavors of Lang". This is the 6th year Lang Son City has organized this activity.

Comrade Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and delegates attended the opening ceremony.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and associations of the province.

On the side of Lang Son City, there were comrade Doan Thi Loan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee; leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son City.

Also attending were delegates from Bac Giang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh provinces; delegates from districts in the province, along with a large number of people and tourists from all over.

The contest "Culinary Flavors of Lang" in Lang Son City, expanded in the spring of Giap Thin 2024, includes 3 contents: beautiful booth display contest; pig roasting contest; duck roasting contest.

Leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee presented flowers to units participating in the expanded "Culinary Flavors of Lang" contest and the fair to display and introduce OCOP products in the spring of Giap Thin 2024.

Participating in this year's contest and fair are 32 booths of 28 units including communes, wards, enterprises, and cooperatives in Lang Son city, districts of Lang Son province, and the provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Cao Bang, and Thai Nguyen; there are 23 pig roasting teams and 15 duck roasting teams using traditional methods.

Here, people and tourists from all over the world can immerse themselves in and experience culinary culture, OCOP products, and typical products of Lang Son such as roast pork, roast duck, sticky rice cake, mugwort cake, sour pho, khau nhuc...; and participate in folk games and performances.

In addition, people and tourists can also experience the cultural spaces of ethnic groups associated with the unique culinary flavors of some localities outside Lang Son province.

The program is one of the events in a series of activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate the Year of the Dragon and the Ky Cung - Ta Phu Temple Festival in 2024. Through this, it aims to promote, maintain and develop the traditional culinary culture of the ethnic people of Lang Son City.
