At least 20 people were killed in a suicide bombing in the Afghan city of Kandahar on March 21.
According to a source at Mirwais Hospital in the city, the medical facility has received the bodies of 20 people killed since the bombing occurred that morning.
No group or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, while a spokesman for the Taliban government's internal affairs agency in Afghanistan said that according to initial information, it is likely that the self-proclaimed "Islamic State" (IS) group carried out the suicide bombing.
Since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021, the number of bomb blasts and suicide attacks in the South Asian country has decreased. However, some armed groups, including IS, still pose a security threat to the country.
