The railway industry will cancel 12 trains from September 7-12 to ensure safety when storm No. 3 makes landfall. There will be 6 trains on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route alone.
Vietnam Railways Corporation said that trains will stop operating from September 7 to 12 to avoid the impact of storm Yagi - storm number 3, including:
Trains LP5, HP2, LP8, LP7 run on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route on September 7.
Trains HP1 and LP2 on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route on September 8.
Train NA1 and NA2 on Hanoi - Vinh route on September 7.
In addition, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway route will stop running SE11 train departing from Hanoi on September 9 and 10; and stop running SE12 train departing from Saigon station on September 11 and 12.
Passengers with tickets for trains that are no longer in operation can return their tickets or change their schedule to other trains without having to pay any fees for changing or returning their tickets.
In an urgent dispatch on responding to storm No. 3, Vietnam Railways Corporation requested the Disaster Prevention Command of Region 1 to assign permanent staff to the scene to direct repair work when incidents occur due to prolonged heavy rain; pay attention to vulnerable areas on railway lines.
