World oil prices

At 6:00 a.m. on April 24, Brent crude oil was trading at $88.42 per barrel, up $1.42 from the previous session. WTI crude oil was trading at $83.36 per barrel, up $1.46.

Oil prices reversed course to rise as investors worried that geopolitical risks in the Middle East would impact supply.

However, economic concerns have become a factor hindering the rise in oil prices.

Notably, oil prices are under pressure due to a sharp increase in US reserves.

Recent data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed that the country's oil inventories increased by 2.7 million barrels last week, nearly double analysts' forecasts.

In addition, the hawkish stance of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) also puts pressure on oil prices.

Domestic gasoline prices

From 3:00 p.m. on April 17, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 378 VND/liter, not higher than 24,226 VND/liter, the price of RON95 gasoline increased by 416 VND/liter, not higher than 25,237 VND/liter.

The prices of various types of oil have changed as follows: Diesel oil decreased by 164 VND/liter, not higher than 21,446 VND/liter; Kerosene decreased by 178 VND/liter, not higher than 21,416 VND/liter and fuel oil price increased by 198 VND/kg, not higher than 17,206 VND/kg.

During this operating period, the operating agency decided not to set aside and not to use the price stabilization fund for all goods.
