Hoang Duc's injury is less severe than expected.

Hoang Duc’s bones were not affected, only soft tissue damage. The midfielder only needs a few days of rest before returning to training as usual. Thus, the severity of Hoang Duc’s injury was less severe than initially predicted by Viettel Club’s coaching staff.

The player born in 1998 was injured in the match between Hanoi Police Club and Viettel on the evening of February 14 at Hang Day Stadium. Hoang Van Toan (Hanoi Police Club) committed a brutal foul by kicking straight into Hoang Duc's leg.

After this incident, the Viettel midfielder tried to continue playing but could only walk on the field for a few minutes before having to leave the field on a stretcher. When the match ended, Hoang Duc could not go to the locker room by himself and had to wait for his teammates to carry him. However, when attending an event in Hanoi this morning (February 1), Hoang Duc was able to walk by himself, although not in the most comfortable condition.

The 2021 Vietnam Golden Ball winner did not suffer any serious injuries. However, Viettel Club still suffered another loss in terms of personnel after the victory over Hanoi Police Club. The 2020 V-League champion will likely not have the service of Geovane Magno. The Brazilian star was only able to play 13 minutes in the match against Hanoi Police Club before re-injuring himself.
