The Overseas Labor Management Center (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) has just informed EPS workers (E9 visa) working in Korea to switch to other legal visa forms to declare the visa conversion.

Foreign workers are allowed to convert their visas to continue working in Korea.

Accordingly, the general required documents for all types of visas include: Application form for change of residence status (download at website: colab.gov.vn); photocopy of newly issued foreigner's ID card (both sides) and photocopy of passport (if changing passport, photocopy of old passport); foreigner registration certificate with seal issued by the People's Committee of the ward/commune where you reside; certificate of registration of residence status issued by the Immigration Department when submitting visa change application. In addition to the additional documents for the above types of visas, the following types of visas require additional documents. For E7, F2 visas (highly skilled workers), a copy of the work certificate with seal is required. For F2, F3 visas (according to spouse), a photocopy of the marriage certificate from Vietnam or Korea is required. For F6 visas, a copy of the marriage certificate from Korea with seal is required to be issued at the People's Committee of the ward/commune. For G1 visa, additional documents confirming the reason for transferring G1 visa, for example, if transferring G1 for medical treatment, additional medical treatment confirmation issued by the hospital to the patient will be required.

Workers submit their application for change of residence status to the Vietnamese labor management office under the EPS program in Korea. After reviewing the application, the EPS office will confirm via text message, email or phone call to the worker.
