Trang An Festival is also known by the people as the Festival of Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong. This is a traditional festival of the locality, held annually to pay tribute and commemorate Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong, the Tran Kings and the ancestors who contributed to the cause of building and protecting the country, supporting national peace and prosperity, and praying for favorable weather.
According to many historical documents, Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong was a general who guarded Son Nam border during the reign of the 8th Hung King. He was the one who made great contributions to preserving and protecting the nation.
The festival attracts a lot of tourists
After many years of being held on a small scale to implement measures to prevent and combat the Covid-19 epidemic, this year, Trang An Festival is held on a larger scale with the participation of a large number of people and tourists from all over the world. However, regardless of whether it is organized large or small depending on the conditions, Trang An Festival always retains its traditional cultural identity.
Attending the Trang An festival, after getting off the boat at Trang An wharf, delegates and tourists performed the dragon boat procession and water procession according to traditional rituals.
Performing the palanquin procession into the ceremony area at Suoi Tien Temple
On the waterway leading to the main ceremony area at Suoi Tien Temple, visitors will be immersed in traditional cultural and folk art melodies, unique to regions across the country. Trang An Festival has recreated the main historical features of our country through the Dinh, Le, Ly, Tran dynasties in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. This place used to be a base against foreign invaders with the citadel being a mountain, the road being a river, and the palace being a cave.
Performing incense offering ceremony at Suoi Tien Temple
The festival is an opportunity to educate generations to promote the tradition of patriotism, national pride and self-respect and the quintessence of Vietnamese national solidarity in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
