The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Hai Duong province has provided more than 295,000 doses of vaccine for the autumn crop to protect livestock, an increase of more than 3,000 doses compared to the same period last year.
Of the vaccines provided, 125,900 doses were for classical swine fever, 93,500 doses were for septicemia, 68,000 doses were for blue ear and foot-and-mouth disease in pigs, and 7,750 doses were for septicemia in cattle and buffalo. The number of vaccine doses provided by the sub-department to localities decreased because many livestock farmers had taken the initiative in sourcing their own vaccines.
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine has coordinated with the Agricultural Service Center to request local veterinary staff to review and count the total number of livestock and poultry that need to be vaccinated to plan the timely supply and supplementation of vaccines. Send specialized staff to inspect and supervise vaccination in localities to promptly intervene in cases of post-vaccination reactions.
Vaccination time for livestock in the fall is from September 15 to October 30.
