On the morning of July 18, the image of the national flag on Truong Sa Lon Island was restored by Google Maps.

Earlier on the morning of July 11, a social media user discovered that Google Maps satellite images did not show the Vietnamese national flag made of ceramic on Truong Sa Lon Island.

A Google representative confirmed that "we do not blur or alter satellite imagery provided by third parties."

"The issue with the image being displayed is due to poor image quality. We are taking the necessary steps to replace it with a better quality image," a Google representative said.

Google Earth has also restored the image of the national flag on Truong Sa Lon Island.

Ms. Ha Lam Tu Quynh - Director of Communications for Google Asia - Pacific also said that users interested in technology can compare the quality of satellite images displayed on Google Earth Pro over time with the same map positioning battery and will see that the quality, color, and detailed information displayed over time are very different.
