Gia Loc awarded more than 10.6 billion VND for education promotion in 5 years

On May 22, Gia Loc District Association for Promotion of Education, the first unit of the province, summarized 5 years of implementing Conclusion 49-KL/TW dated May 10, 2019 of the Central Party Secretariat on continuing to implement Directive No. 11/CT-TW of the Politburo on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in promoting education, promoting talents, and building a learning society".

Over the past 5 years, Party committees and authorities at all levels from district to grassroots level of Gia Loc district have paid attention to directing and creating favorable conditions for activities to encourage learning, encourage talents, and build a learning society.

According to the summary report, over the past 5 years, the association at all levels has effectively implemented the construction of learning models. Since the beginning of the year, the whole district has 44,246 families registered for "Learning Families", reaching 97.3%; 814 clans registered for "Learning Clans", reaching 79.2%; 119 units registered for "Learning Units", reaching 100%; 18/18 communes and towns registered for "Commune-level Learning Communities"...

As of May 2024, the district had added 15,752 more members compared to 2019, bringing the number of members to 54,404, accounting for 41% of the population. The total Education Promotion Fund in the district is more than 12 billion VND, an increase of nearly 750 million VND compared to 2020.

In the past 5 years, the district’s associations have awarded 137,921 people, with a total amount of more than 10.6 billion VND; granted 3,575 scholarships and gifts to poor students with a total amount of more than 4.8 billion VND; coordinated with sponsors to award many computers, smartphones, bicycles to students in difficult circumstances, etc.
