Rating is a unit of measurement of television audience, used to indicate the average number of viewers per minute of a media, which can be an advertisement, movie or TV show and is calculated as a percentage of the population.
Relative percentage (%) or absolute number (000) are two units used to express rating.
For example: In Can Tho, program A has a rating of 5% or 100,000. That means in Can Tho, on average 100,000 people watch program A every minute, equivalent to 5% of Can Tho's population.
According to Kantar Media, high or low ratings have the same value. Ratings are only accurate when readers are provided with full information about the audience group, channel, and city/locality.
