Accordingly, on the evening of April 7, at the Great Hall of the Vietnam - Czech Friendship Cultural Palace, an interdisciplinary force including the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District, the Inspectorate of the Department of Culture and Sports, and the Hai Phong City Police came to inspect and urgently stop the performance of the Fan Club meeting of singer Jimmii Nguyen called "Afternoon Listening to the Sea Cry". At the time of the inspection, there were about 500 people attending the Fan Club meeting.
Previously, in mid-March, the Department of Culture and Information of Ngo Quyen district received a request from Mr. Le Duc Cuong, representative of the Fan Club of singer Jimmii Nguyen, for guidance on organizing events according to regulations.
The leader of the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen district said that the organizing unit had not yet notified the People's Committee of the district, so the interdisciplinary inspection team urgently stopped the mini show of singer Jimmii Nguyen at the Vietnam - Czech Friendship Cultural Palace.
Responding to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation said that stopping singer Jimmii Nguyen's music night was very regrettable, the incident happened because the organizer had not completed the process.
"Immediately after the incident, we held a meeting to review experience in managing and organizing the performance program," said Mr. Tuan.
According to Mr. Tuan, initially, Mr. Le Van Cuong sent a notice to the Department of Culture and Information of Ngo Quyen district about the plan, performance schedule and requested guidance on procedures. After that, this person received a response to follow Decree 144 on regulations on performing arts activities, so he thought that it had been approved and organized the music night as planned.
