Comrade Vu Van Uy was elected to hold the position of full-time Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association, term IX.

Leaders of the Organizing Committee, Professional Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Organizing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee and 173 official delegates attended.

In his opening speech, Comrade Nguyen Quy Trong, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper, emphasized that the 9th Provincial Journalists Association Congress for the 2023-2028 term took place in the context that Party committees at all levels in the province had just completed the mid-term review of the implementation of the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. The Congress also took place in the context of many unpredictable fluctuations and rapid changes in the world and the country. The strong impact of the fourth industrial revolution has placed the press in general and journalists in particular in front of opportunities and advantages but also many difficulties and challenges.

This congress of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association has a very heavy task. That is to evaluate the situation of press activities in the province over the past 5 years, especially to evaluate the results of implementing the Resolution of the 8th Provincial Journalists Association Congress for the 2018-2023 term. The congress will focus on discussing, building and completing the political report of the 8th Executive Committee, submitting it to the congress and other documents.

The Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association requested the delegates attending the congress to work with a spirit of concentration and seriousness, promote collective intelligence, and contribute valuable and dedicated ideas to build and perfect feasible goals and targets for the new term. Promote the spirit of democracy, impartiality, and objectivity to elect journalists with qualities and abilities, prestige and conditions, as well as enthusiasm and dedication to the movement to lead all aspects of the association's work in the coming term.

At the first working session, the 9th Congress of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association carried out many important contents such as electing the Presidium and Secretariat; approving the working program of the first session, regulations and rules of the congress; electing the committee to examine the membership qualifications.

The Congress listened to the review report of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association, term VIII, 2018-2023; draft report on inspection work for the term 2018-2023.

Attending the congress, 3 delegates representing branches under the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association reported and shared some outstanding activities, good experiences, and effective work of the unit; at the same time, proposed and suggested many new contents, issues, and ways to help the activities of the Provincial Journalists Association achieve more results in the coming term.

At the first working session, with a spirit of concentration, democracy and high responsibility, delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association for the 2023-2028 term, consisting of 9 comrades; and elected the Association's Inspection Committee, consisting of 3 comrades, ensuring the set standards and requirements.

Immediately after the congress ended its working session on the afternoon of November 2, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association, term IX, 2023-2028, held its first meeting to elect the President, Vice Presidents, and Head of the Association's Inspection Committee.

Accordingly, comrade Vu Van Uy, Vice President of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association, term VIII, was elected to hold the position of President of the Provincial Journalists Association, term IX, for the 2023-2028 term.

Comrades Dang Dinh Long, Deputy Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station and Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper were elected to hold the position of Vice President of the 9th term Association. Comrade Nguyen Trong Thang, Head of the Department of Press and Publishing Information (Department of Information and Communications) was elected to hold the position of Head of the Association's Inspection Committee.

On the morning of November 3, the official session of the 9th Congress of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association for the 2023-2028 term will take place with many important contents such as: approving the political report of the Executive Committee of the Association for the 8th term of the Association for the 2018-2023 term; reporting the election results of the Executive Committee and key positions of the Provincial Journalists Association for the 9th term; introducing the new Executive Committee of the Association; awarding certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements; approving the Congress Resolution...

Comrade Vu Van Uy (born in 1979, in Tuan Viet commune, Kim Thanh district) has a bachelor's degree in journalism and a senior degree in political theory. From 2005 to May 2021, he worked at Hai Duong Newspaper, holding the positions of Head of the Economic Department and Editorial Secretary; from June 2021, he held the position of Vice President of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association.
