Jungkook's single "Seven" becomes Billboard Hot 100 champion

Jungkook of the popular Korean boy band BTS has debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his debut solo single "Seven".

With this achievement, Jungkook has become the second Korean solo artist to take the top spot on the weekly music chart for hit singles in the US. Previously, Jimin - another member of BTS - also made history when he became the first Korean solo artist to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the single "Like Crazy" in April 2023.

According to Yonhap news agency, released on July 14, "Seven" is a vibrant pop song, featuring American rapper Latto. In its first week of release in the US, "Seven" had 21.9 million streams, 153,000 downloads and reached 6.4 million radio listeners.

This is Jungkook's first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 song, following his collaboration with Charlie Puth, "Left And Right," which debuted at No. 22, and his soundtrack, "Stay Alive," which debuted at No. 95.

Additionally, on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US (outside the US) charts, “Seven” also debuted at No. 1. Of these, the Billboard Global 200 compiles data worldwide, while the Billboard Global Excl. compiles data outside the US.

Previously, "Seven" debuted at number 3 on the British Official Singles Chart. This is one of the two most prestigious music charts in the world, along with the Billboard chart.
