The trekking tour of Cam Mountain (An Giang) attracts a lot of tourists. In the 2-day-1-night itinerary, tourists will trek through forests, cross streams and waterfalls, visit fruit-laden gardens, camp on the mountain and hunt for clouds on Bo Hong peak.
Every year, from May to November, a large number of tourists flock to Cam Mountain (Tinh Bien town, An Giang) - considered the roof of the Mekong Delta - to participate in nature experience activities, especially trekking tours (a type of hiking tourism) through forests, streams, waterfalls, visiting fruit gardens, and camping on the mountain.
The destination that tourists conquer is Bo Hong peak (about 716m) - the highest place on Cam mountain and in That Son range.
According to Mr. Duong Viet Anh, a photographer and tour guide at Cam Mountain tourist area, from May, this place begins the rainy season, with daytime temperatures ranging from 26-28 degrees Celsius to 19-20 degrees Celsius at night, very suitable for outdoor exploration.
At this time, the road to conquer the mountain peak also becomes green and full of life. Every morning, Bo Hong peak is surrounded by a sea of floating white clouds, creating an impressive scene for visitors to admire and check-in.
The trekking route of Cam Mountain is divided into 5km, 7km, 15km, 21km, 42km, depending on the needs of tourists. With the 5 - 15km routes, tourists can experience it in a day, through destinations such as palm fields, custard apple hills, Thanh Long stream, ripe mango gardens...

“Tourists must ensure good health to fully participate in the journey. On the roads, there are stations for water and specialty fruits such as palmyra, watermelon, strawberries, avocados, etc.
The tour includes 2 tour guides and a medical attendant. The cost for a 7km trekking tour for a group of 10 people, including lunch, is around 700,000 VND/person,” said Mr. Viet Anh.
When visiting Cam Mountain, visitors should pay attention to a few things such as: Prepare cash to spend because most of the services on the trekking route must be paid in cash (but do not bring too much, mainly use small denominations). Visitors do not need to bring a lot of food and drinks up the mountain because there are full services.
When trekking, visitors should choose clothes that are easy to move in but discreet and polite because this is a spiritual tourist destination. In particular, the group should minimize littering to ensure environmental hygiene.
At Cam Mountain, there are many religious and belief structures that attract tourists such as Van Linh Pagoda, Big Buddha Pagoda, Maitreya Buddha statue, Thuy Liem Lake... In the fourth lunar month and the end of August and beginning of September, there are two major festivals: the Ba Chua Xu Festival and the Bay Nui Bull Racing Festival of the Khmer people.
According to the planning and orientation of tourism development of An Giang province, Cam Mountain tourist area is oriented to become a pilgrimage, resort and eco-tourism area to bring visitors new, attractive and interesting experiences.
An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center said that the trekking activity on Cam Mountain has been maintained by the unit for the past 2 years, attracting a large number of tourists and athletes from many places to participate.
