A suicide bomber detonated explosives in the Afghan capital Kabul, killing at least six people and injuring 13 others.
On the afternoon of September 2 (local time), a suicide bomber detonated explosives in the Afghan capital Kabul, killing at least 6 people and injuring 13 others.
Kabul Police spokesman Khalid Zadran confirmed the information in a post on social network X, saying that the dead, including one woman, were all civilians.
The attack took place in Qala-e-Bakhtiar, south of the capital Kabul, and investigations are underway, Zadran said.
No organization or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Violence has declined in Afghanistan since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021, ending a two-decade war between foreign forces and Islamist insurgents.
However, the regional branch of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization, known as the Islamic State Khorasan, is active in Afghanistan and regularly targets civilians, foreigners and Taliban officials with gun and bomb attacks.
