Former airport employee defrauded and appropriated nearly 2 billion VND

Hang and Hien committed many scams by applying for jobs at the airport.

On July 24, the People's Court of Da Nang City opened the first instance trial of defendants Pham Thi My Hang (born in 1994) and Bui Thi Thu Hien (born in 1991, both residing in Hoa Phong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang) for the crime of "fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the indictment, although they had no authority in labor recruitment, from March 2020 to November 2021, Hang and Hien colluded to defraud many people in the form of applying for jobs to appropriate money.

In total, Hang and Hien committed 9 scams, promising to secure many job positions at airports such as: passenger driver, business lounge manager, security screening, baggage handling... but did not do so.

In each case, the defendants illegally profited from tens to hundreds of millions of dong. The total amount of money defrauded and appropriated was more than 1.9 billion dong.

At the trial, the Trial Panel determined that Pham Thi My Hang and Bui Thi Thu Hien committed organized crimes two or more times, which are aggravating circumstances...

Board of Judgessentenced defendant Pham Thi My Hang to 12 years in prison, Bui Thi Thu Hien to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
