After 12 years of being closed for repairs, the world's most romantic street, Via dell'Amore, is open to visitors again.

Via dell'Amore - The Road of Love, stretching about a kilometer along the steep cliffs overlooking the Ligurian Sea, connects the two picturesque villages of Riomaggiore and Manarola in the Cinque Terre region. Via dell'Amore has been dubbed "the most romantic road in the world" by international travel magazines and has attracted many couples and tourists from all over the world. The road reopened on July 27.

The road was closed in 2012 after a serious landslide injured four Australian tourists. Since then, local authorities have decided to repair and improve it to make it "safer than ever" for tourists.

As you walk along the romantic path, you will be immersed in the scenery between mountains and sea, with statues and chairs depicting the gods of love.

Built in the 1920s, the road quickly became an ideal dating spot, where couples could enjoy romantic moments together amidst nature. The name "Love Road" originated from the romantic love stories of the local people.

Visitors to Via dell'Amore share that they feel like they are lost in another world, where time slows down and all the worries of modern life disappear. This is the ideal place for couples to create beautiful memories, from gentle hand holding, sweet kisses, to whispering words of love to the sound of waves lapping the shore.

Via dell'Amore is also a cultural and historical treasure. Stories of love and loyalty of the people here have been passed down through many generations. Each stone, each wall is associated with its own memories and stories, making the journey of discovery full of emotions.

The road, which cost 22 million euros to repair, uses steel straps and netting to secure the rocks above and below it.

Each season of the year, Via dell'Amore has its own beauty. In spring, flowers bloom, creating a brilliant natural picture. In summer, the sky is clear blue and the sunlight shimmers on the sea. In autumn, the leaves turn yellow and red, creating a romantic scene. And in winter, the air is chilly with misty fog, mysterious and quiet.

Last year, 4 million people visited the Cinque Terre villages, mainly on the Romantic Route.

Reopening just in time for the European summer, the trail is expected to attract a large number of visitors from all over the world. To avoid overcrowding, local authorities have asked visitors to book tickets online or buy them at the ticket booths, with two opening hours: 9am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm. This helps them control the number of visitors and ensure that everyone can enjoy a memorable experience without being affected by the crowds.

The journey along Via dell'Amore is also an opportunity for visitors to discover local cuisine. Small roadside cafes and cozy restaurants serving specialties of the Ligurian sea will satisfy food lovers.

Don't forget to enjoy a glass of local wine, produced from vineyards located along the hillsides.
