For me, this memory is a profound lesson that shows me more clearly the importance of "reading, traveling, asking, writing" for journalists.
Earlier this year, my two colleagues Thanh Chung and Tuan Anh at Hai Duong Newspaper were honored to have a work that won the Excellent Work Award on discovering typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style (special award, equivalent to C prize) at the 8th National Press Award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award).
The work is “75 years of a loyal party couple to the Party” in the electronic newspaper category. The group of authors was even happier when the couple in the work were also recognized and rewarded by the Organizing Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award at the award ceremony.
In particular, Hai Duong Newspaper is the agency with exclusive information and the first press work reflecting the example and special story of the old party member couple Nguyen Van Mai - Le Thi Cung in Quang Phuc commune (Tu Ky).
I was fortunate to meet the elderly party member couple Nguyen Van Mai - Le Thi Cung by chance. That day, I had an appointment to work with a leader of Tu Ky district. I arrived on time but had to wait for a while. When we met, the district leader said I sympathized because he had just returned from presenting Party badges in the commune. Hearing that, I immediately asked if there were many elderly party members in Tu Ky district who were still healthy? That comrade immediately told me about the case of Mr. Mai and his wife. Remembering this special story, a few days later I contacted the leader of Quang Phuc commune to find out more. When I reported the topic to write on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the Party's founding, the Editorial Board asked us to carefully research the information, using the Emagazine format to tell the special story of Mr. Mai and his wife in a complete and attractive way.
The above story has made me see more clearly the importance of "reading, traveling, asking, writing" for journalists. Journalists must be truly attached, regularly closely following the grassroots and practical life to have attractive topics and good works to serve readers.
