Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 Final Round: Contestants stumble, shout names less loudly

Final roundMiss Grand Vietnam2023 took place on the evening of August 23 at Phu Tho Stadium (HCMC) with the competition of 44 candidates.

Opening the final night was a performance by the top 44 and singer My My with the songNo one else but you. The contestants showed off their dancing and performance skills evenly after a period of practice.

The contestants who performed impressively included: Bui Khanh Linh, Le Hoang Phuong, Dang Hoang Tam Nhu... Besides, there were still a few contestants who did not have experience on stage and interacting with the camera, so they stumbled, exposed their underwear, had their costumes come undone, and had quick, uninspired performances.

Combined with the evening gown performance is the name calling contest, considered a “specialty” of Miss Grand Vietnam and internationally. This year, the contestants’ name calling is somewhat more restrained and serious after being considered “over the top” last year. Some beauties made a difference by combining folk songs, proverbs or a song into the name calling to show the culture of the region where the contestants live.

The contestants who had impressive performances in calling out their names included: Bui Thi Thanh Thuy (singing about her hometown Phu Yen), Nguyen Thuy Duong (reading poems about her hometown Bac Lieu), Nguyen Thi Diem Quyen (singing about her hometown Quang Nam), Nguyen Vinh Ha Phuong (singing opera)... Some contestants were still shaking and out of breath, their eyes lacked confidence, and they could not adjust the tone of their voices when calling out their names.

Many viewers who watched the show live and via livestream said that the stage effects and background music during the evening gown competition were not impressive and out of place compared to the beauties performing. In addition, there were some problems with sound and transmission.

The final night of Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 will take place on the evening of August 27. After being crowned, the newmisshas more than a month to prepare to attend Miss Grand International 2023, held in Vietnam at the end of October.
