According to the leader of the Department of Construction Investment Management (Ministry of Transport), the project to renovate stations on the Northern railway line is in the process of selecting contractors and is expected to start construction in April 2023.
Accordingly, the project includes 2 construction packages. To date, the Department of Construction Investment Management has completed the design appraisal and cost estimates of these 2 packages. The investor also issued the bidding documents for package XL01 on March 6, and is expected to complete the selection of construction contractors before April 10 and start the project in April 2023.
The project to renovate stations on the Northern railway line has a total estimated investment of more than 475 billion VND. The investment capital will be from the state budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 with an implementation period until 2025.
In terms of scale, the project will renovate and upgrade 3 passenger stations including: Gia Lam station (Hanoi - Dong Dang route), Cam Giang station and Hai Duong station (Gia Lam - Hai Phong route); 4 cargo stations including: Vat Cach station, Vat Cach port (Gia Lam - Hai Phong route), Dong Dang station and Lang Son station (Hanoi - Dong Dang route), Xuan Giao station (Yen Vien - Lao Cai route). Including items of renovating stations, platforms, building new platform roofs; renewing and repairing railways; renewing and repairing warehouses; synchronous auxiliary works...
According to the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport), the XL01 package includes the renovation of Xuan Giao, Hai Duong, Gia Lam, Cam Giang, Dong Dang, and Lang Son stations with an estimated cost of nearly VND194 billion, with contractors selected through open bidding. The XL02 package includes the renovation of Vat Cach station and Vat Cach port (Hai Phong City), with an estimated cost of more than VND168 billion.
