The two films "Lord of the Ring: The Fellowship of the Ring" (part 1) and "Lord of the Ring: The Two Towers" (part 2) will return to Vietnamese audiences on the big screen at the end of September and mid-October this year.
According to distributor CGV Vietnam, part 1 will have the Vietnamese title "The Lord of the Rings: Brotherhood," and will premiere on September 30, 2022. Part 2, with the Vietnamese title "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers," will premiere on October 14, 2022.
The two films will be shown in both regular and IMAX formats - a more expensive option but suitable for audiences who love cinematic experiences and spectacular visuals. Previously in 2006, 5 years after the first part was released, "Lord of the Ring: The Fellowship of the Ring" came to Vietnamese audiences in regular format.
In part 1, Frodo Baggin - a gentle Hobbit of the Shire region and eight companions set out to destroy the One Ring, to save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron. Continuing in part 2, as Frodo and his companion Sam get closer to Mordor, the remaining teammates enter the battle against Sauron's new ally - the wizard Saruman and his fortress of Isengard.
"The Lord of the Rings" remains a monument in the hearts of fantasy fans. The original trilogy has sold at least 150 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling works of literature of all time.
The film version is also one of the highest-grossing film series of all time with $2.991 billion.
One of the factors that contributed to the success of the three films is the extremely impressive visuals, which respect almost completely the descriptions in the original series from the physical characteristics of each fictional race in the film. The set design and sound in the film have helped to bring an impressive image, meeting the expectations of fans about the land of Middle-earth in the story.
In early September 2022, Amazon Prime also released the prequel series - "The Lord of the Ring: The Ring of Power" and received many positive compliments from critics. The series is set in Middle-earth in the second age, thousands of years before the time of "The Hobbit" and the aforementioned "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
