Not classifying waste at source according to regulations

It has been exactly one month since the regulation requiring waste classification at source took effect, but many people remain indifferent.

Although the regulation requiring the classification of household solid waste has been in effect for a full month, many people are still indifferent. Garbage is still mixed and gathered along Highway 37 (photo taken at 4 p.m. on January 31).

January 31st is exactly one month since the regulation on waste classification at source came into effect, but authorities and people in some localities are still indifferent to waste classification. Waste is still mixed, put in plastic bags and transported to collection points. Collection units are normal as before the regulation.

At home, organic and inorganic waste is not classified.

Especially before and after Tet, the amount of garbage and leftover food increases but is still not classified and processed properly.

From January 1, 2025, according to Clause 1, Article 26 of Decree 45/2022/ND-CP, families and individuals who do not classify domestic solid waste according to regulations; do not use packaging to contain domestic solid waste according to regulations will be fined from VND 500,000 to VND 1,000,000.
