Rent 3 tents in a "cutthroat" room in the UK

The room with 3 tents was rented on Airbnb in January.

On the accommodation booking platform Airbnb, a homeowner posted an article about renting a tent for overnight stay in a house in China Town, London, England.

In January, the tent was listed for £68 a night. Now (early May) the price has been pushed up to £80 a night, not including Airbnb’s £14 service fee.

Thus, guests have to pay up to 94 pounds/night (about 3 million VND) and 2,632 pounds/month for a tent with a closed view. This price makes many people shocked about the rental market in the foggy city, according to Independent.

The January ad had three tents. The next time it was advertised, it had only two tents left. That explains the price increase.

In the past, camping and glamping were considered by many to be the perfect romantic place for a first date. However, the tent inside the room above was far from what one would imagine.

The owner even introduced his tent: "Our house is located near a busy business street, so the tent cannot be quiet at night. Customers should bring earplugs to avoid noise."

Inside the £80-a-night tent in London

Under the advertisement for the apartment with 3 tents above on Airbnb, many users left mixed comments.

"The house is in a beautiful location, easy to access, the owner responds quickly," one reviewer wrote.

Another wrote: "A tent for £68 a night, this is insane. I have no words for this," another wrote.

"I don't know if this is a brilliant idea or a stupid one. Or both," said a third.

According to Independent, this "unusual" accommodation only appeared on Airbnb in January, but images of the room with 3 tents have been circulating on social media since 2023.
