The VFF Disciplinary Board has imposed a penalty on U19 SHB Da Nang player Mai Quoc Tu for kicking U19 Tay Ninh player Tran Minh Hy in the head.
U19 Da Nang player Mai Quoc Tu will have to pay a fine of 7.5 million for fouling U19 Tay Ninh player in the 2023 National U19 Finals. In addition, Mai Quoc Tu will have to sit out 5 matches. Mai Quoc Tu has the right to appeal this penalty from the VFF Disciplinary Board.
Previously, in the match between Da Nang and Tay Ninh, Tran Minh Hy made a dangerous tackle on Mai Quoc Tu. The Da Nang player jumped up to avoid the tackle and kicked his opponent in the head. Quoc Tu received a direct red card, while Minh Hy received a yellow card for dangerous behavior towards his opponent.

Immediately after the match, the National U19 Tournament Organizing Committee made a record and reported to the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). Mr. Phan Thanh Duc - Head Coach of U19 Da Nang said: "Quoc Tu avoided the dangerous ball but got angry because he was losing and was fouled dangerously, so he used his foot to pull away from the opponent and injured Minh Hy's head. We called the Tay Ninh team to apologize and they accepted it."
In addition to the disciplinary action from VFF, Quoc Tu will also be subject to disciplinary action from SHB Da Nang. The player has just had to make a report on his serious violations. This is regrettable and will have a negative impact on Mai Quoc Tu's career.
