Ministry of Interior proposes to abolish the organization of the Church of God the Mother

The Ministry of Home Affairs has just sent a document to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities regarding a number of tasks for the Church of God the Mother (also known as the Church of God the Mother).

This church's official and full name is World Mission Society Church of God, founded in 1964 in Korea by Ahn Sahng Hong (1918-1985), and is currently run by Ms. Jang Gil Ja (God the Mother).

The document of the Ministry of the Interior stated that recently, the activities of the Church of God the Mother continued to take place in many localities across the country, causing outrage and anger among the people, violating the provisions of the law on beliefs and religions, and going against good customs and traditions.

The Ministry of Home Affairs requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to strengthen their work of grasping the situation, promptly detecting and resolutely fighting against and eliminating the Church of God the Mother in terms of organization.

Agencies and units must dissolve and revoke licenses for religious groups, not allowing them to regroup or form new activity locations. Localities must not accept registration of activities in any form, including registration of religious groups, establishment of non-governmental organizations, companies, representative offices, shops, clubs, extracurricular programs, etc.

The Ministry of Home Affairs also requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to strictly handle violations of the law that negatively affect believers and society of the Church of God the Mother, such as acts that violate social order and security; insult and divide beliefs and religions; insult the honor and dignity of others; divide people who follow a belief or religion from people who follow different beliefs and religions; take advantage of religious activities for personal gain...

The Ministry requests agencies and units, according to their functions and legal regulations on beliefs and religions and related to beliefs and religions, and the level of violations, to strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate the law, including violations in cyberspace.

The Ministry of Home Affairs also requested localities to organize information and propaganda about illegal activities and harmful effects caused by the Church of God the Mother to raise awareness, vigilance, social consensus, and religious consensus in recognizing, criticizing, detecting, preventing, and handling illegal activities, and activities contrary to social ethics and religious ethics of the Church of God the Mother.
