The Ministry of Public Security issued a notice requesting former Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of SCB Bank, Nguyen Thi Thu Suong, and 6 other defendants to surrender.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling is investigating the case of “Asset Embezzlement; Fraudulent appropriation of property; Money laundering; Abuse of trust to appropriate property; Violation of regulations on banking activities and other activities related to banking activities; Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences” occurring at Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB), Van Thinh Phat Group and related units.
On October 25, 2023, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a Decision to prosecute and an Arrest Warrant to temporarily detain 7 suspects, but the suspects have fled or their whereabouts are unknown.
The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency continues to request that the suspects voluntarily surrender to enjoy the leniency of the law. In addition to Nguyen Thi Thu Suong, the remaining 6 suspects include:
Chiem Minh Dung (50 years old, in Can Tho) - former Deputy General Director of SCB; Tram Thich Ton (62 years old, in Tra Vinh) - former member of the Board of Directors of SCB; Sun Henry Ka Ziang (66 years old) - member of the Board of Directors of SCB; Lam Lee George (64 years old) - former member of the Board of Directors of SCB.
Nguyen Lam Anh Vu (54 years old) - former Deputy Director of SCB Ben Thanh Branch;
Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 231 of the 2015 Criminal Procedure Code, on October 29, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a wanted notice for 7 suspects. The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency hereby notifies all agencies, organizations, and individuals to know, detect, and arrest.
