As Party Cell Secretary and Head of Bui Hoa Village, Tan Quang Commune - the village with the most Catholics in Ninh Giang District (Hai Duong), Mr. Dao Dinh Gia always lives a 'good life, good religion'.
Joined the Party at the age of 57
Born and raised in a Catholic family with a revolutionary tradition, in 1977, Mr. Gia volunteered to join the army. In 1982, he returned to his hometown to start a family, do farming and participate in local mass organizations.
As a prestigious and responsible citizen, Mr. Gia was elected as Head of Bui Hoa village in 2013.
For more than 10 years working in the village, Mr. Gia has always tried his best to help the villagers build their homeland. Everyone in the village is familiar with the image of the village chief busy in the upper and lower lanes, mobilizing the villagers to build rural roads, clean the environment, and preserve cultural lifestyles.
In 2015, when he was 57 years old, Mr. Gia was able to attend a 'Party sympathy' course. He said: "It doesn't matter at what age you are admitted to the Party, what matters is what you can do for the common good, for the locality, and for the people. I myself have to train myself to live a useful life for society, be a good example, and contribute to the villagers in building my homeland."
After becoming a party member, Mr. Gia was elected as Party Cell Secretary.
Always lead by example
Bui Hoa village has 1,200 people, 265 households, of which 60% are Catholics. This is the village with the most Catholics in Ninh Giang district. Bui Hoa village party cell currently has 25 party members, of which 8 are Catholics.
As Party Cell Secretary and Head of Bui Hoa Village, Mr. Gia regularly propagates and mobilizes parishioners to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and village conventions; to live in harmony and solidarity, and to actively respond to patriotic emulation movements and new rural construction emulation movements.
Promoting the role and responsibility of prestigious people in the Catholic community, Mr. Gia proactively coordinated with dignitaries and officials to promptly convey policies and guidelines, helping the local movement achieve many results.
Currently, some parishioners are being helped by the Bui Hoa village Party Cell to strive to join the Party. Mr. Gia's eldest son, Dao Dinh Gian, born in 1982, is a Catholic and works as a mechanic and was also admitted to the Party in 2017.
Thanks to skillful mass mobilization, from 2017 to now, Bui Hoa village has completed the expansion of 2.5 km of 3 m wide concrete road, repaired the cultural house, the fence of the church area... The people's lives in the village are stable and prosperous.
Comrade Vu Duy Hung, Secretary of the Tan Quang Commune Party Committee, said that as Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of Bui Hoa Village, Mr. Gia always fulfilled his assigned tasks well and had many years of excellent performance. With many positive contributions, Mr. Gia has been repeatedly commended and rewarded by local authorities and sectors.
Sharing with us, Mr. Gia said that the most precious thing to him is to maintain peace in the parish, solidarity to build the homeland to develop more and more with the spirit of "in the Party there are parishioners and in the parishioners there is the Party".
