The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a directive on strengthening inspection and monitoring of the operational status of information, navigation and aviation surveillance systems (CNS) during the peak period of the Lunar New Year 2025.

Accordingly, in order to ensure the safety of flight operations during the Lunar New Year, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requested the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), Air Traffic Management Engineering Company Limited, and Van Don International Airport to review all licenses for operating CNS systems and equipment (information, navigation, aviation surveillance), and frequency licenses for operating CNS systems and equipment in use.

Units must ensure that all mining licenses are still valid and ensure continuous operation; make a list of CNS systems and equipment currently operating at their unit, along with relevant information about mining licenses, including the validity of the licenses; absolutely do not allow cases of expired licenses to affect mining safety.

In addition, units have increased inspection and monitoring of the operating status of CNS systems and equipment to promptly detect potential technical risks and dangers in order to have timely handling and response plans to ensure safety for flight operations.

At the same time, ensure that all CNS system operators have valid qualifications, promptly renew or reissue qualifications in accordance with regulations, and absolutely do not allow cases where qualifications expire and affect operational safety.

For the licensing procedure, units must submit applications for licensing or extension of operating licenses within the prescribed time limit; strictly comply with administrative procedures under the guidance of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and related regulations.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also assigned the Northern, Central and Southern Airports Authorities to strengthen the review and inspection of compliance with regulations related to operating licenses of units operating CNS systems and equipment.

At the same time, strictly handle violations of license delays; violations must be fully recorded, clarify the causes and responsibilities of relevant parties depending on the level of violation, apply handling measures according to current regulations, and at the same time, regularly report the situation and handling results to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam for timely guidance.
